Adam joined THK in 2011 and practices in Indiana and Michigan as a dedicated estate attorney with experience in a wide range of related legal services, including: trust & estate planning & administration; preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and other planning documents; transfer tax planning; charitable planning; special needs planning; real estate planning & transaction; and, advising business owners.
Adam works closely with clients to create personalized strategies for legacy planning, wealth preservation, charitable giving, and incapacity planning. His work with families on the planning side is also informed by his broad experience in trust & estate administrative matters, including probate, non-probate transfers, real estate transactions, and advising trustees and executors.
Adam is certified as a specialist in trust & estate law by the Trust & Estate Specialty Board of the Indiana State Bar Association. He speaks regularly on estate planning and related topics.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Adam came to the area to fulfill his childhood dream of attending the University of Notre Dame, followed by Notre Dame Law School. He met his wife, Alissa, at Notre Dame, and after both completed their graduate degrees at ND, they decided to put down roots in the community they had come to love and now called home. Adam still regularly misses the desert mountains but cherishes living and working in Michiana.
Adam and his wife have two children and a ridiculous & adorable pug named Guinness; spending time with them is his favorite thing to do. Adam is also an involved parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Bend, where he serves as a sacristan and in several other capacities. Reading (of all sorts) and music (not of all sorts) are Adam’s primary interests outside of the office. He also enjoys traveling and playing guitar, and generally has more hobbies and interests than he has the time to give them.
Adam considers being an estate attorney as his third vocation, alongside being a husband and father, and cares deeply for his clients. He is grateful for the unique privilege of being invited into a place of trust with families as they navigate planning for the priorities, people, and causes about which they care most dearly. For Adam, accompanying families through life’s unique joys and sorrows is not only fulfilling work but also a true gift, and serves as a window into and reminder of the unique human dignity found in relation, and of what matters most.
